The primary role of this position is working alongside the social media team and helping to develop innovative new content for the UF/IFAS flagship accounts. Position will help maintain UF/IFAS flagship platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and find ways to boost engagement on Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube. The focus of this position is social media but includes some website maintenance work as well in T4 and WordPress.
This position assists the public relations team with research; drafting and proofreading social media content that is accessible to all, helping to create digital campaigns; and analyzing platform analytics. Looking for someone with new ideas on growing audiences, boosting engagement, and creating innovative new content. Find and explore ways to create more authentic opportunities to highlight UF/IFAS. Live tweeting, live video and other approaches are part of this strategy.
Individual will be responsible for pitching social media content ideas, creating weekly Instagram stories, writing blog posts, creating live video content. Also, will aid in drafting best practice guidelines for use across UF/IFAS and answering internal questions on best practices from employees producing their own content.
Will attend weekly meetings, accompany IFAS staff on day trips when feasible, and virtual professional development events.
This position is part-time and requires a time commitment of 20 hours per week. Flexible work hours between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.
$13.00 per hour
High school diploma or equivalent.
This position is open to all UF students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work Study (FWS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
Preferred skills include: Canva, Sprout Social, Otter.AI, basic Photoshop or photo editing skills, web editing experience, exposure to journalism ethics, bilingual speaker/writer. Previous experience running company or educational social media accounts is preferred. Previous video experience is a plus.
