The New York State Police is a full-service police agency. They are the primary law enforcement officers in many regions across the state handling everything from traditional patrol duties to highly specialized investigations. They respond and investigate all types of cases including, but not limited, to domestic incidents, missing children, assaults, burglaries, robberies and homicides. Trooper must be prepared to deal with a never-ending variety of situations.
There are promotional opportunities and a variety of specialty units, including canine handler, dive team, aviation, and SORT (SWAT).

SALARY
During academy training the starting salary is $58,443, increasing to $82,677 after one year.
