The Medical Operations Partners (MOPs) will serve as a key interface between Emerging Markets and China Medical Affairs teams and the Biopharma Operations group, offering strategic partnership and Ops accountability for Medical Affairs teams. In addition, the MOP will be responsible for ensuring regional coordination and alignment.
This role will lead the way in developing the Biopharma Operations support for Medical Affairs as a key member of the new MOPs team and ensuring the operational services and support is a competitive advantage for Medical Affairs teams.
The MOP team will drive Our Collective Advantage by delivering high quality solutions, efficiently and at scale across the BU and regional Medical Affairs teams.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with the assigned BU Medical Affairs Leadership to ensure outstanding operational support to further Medical Affairs strategies
- Act as a key interface between the BU Medical Affairs teams and the Biopharma Ops teams as a member of the MOPs team.
- Partner with leaders and key stakeholders in Medical Affairs to ensure the services, solutions and platforms provided by Biopharma Operations meet the needs of Medical Affairs teams, through partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- Ensure the needs and priorities of the Medical Affairs teams are represented within the Biopharma Ops delivery teams and work collaboratively to prioritize BU Medical Affairs needs appropriately.
Partners with the Regional Medical Affairs Leadership to ensure outstanding operational support and to align and promote efficiency in execution across the region and incorporate regional/country requirements
- Ensure the service and solutions provided by Biopharma Operations meet the needs of Medical Affairs teams in the region of responsibility, including local legal, compliance and business requirements, through partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders at the regional and country level.
- Ensure Our Collective Advantage through close collaboration and alignment with the other Medical Affairs Operations leads representing other BUs and regions to promote alignment and efficiency.
- Is the regional orchestrator of service delivery to meet business needs and demands
- Understands the regional business strategy and context, and is accountable to lead, own, develop and maintain regional processes to enhance value to clients while maintaining or reducing overall costs
- The MOP will have a broad and deep knowledge of the Biopharma Ops service portfolio and remit and an excellent understanding of Medical Affairs operational needs and business goals and priorities in Emerging Markets and China.
- This colleague will advise on and broker Biopharma Ops services and solutions and to help anticipate and solve Medical Affairs business challenges.
- The MOP will anticipate the future needs of the Medical Affairs teams based on strategic objectives and effectively communicate among Biopharma Operations to inform opportunities for the team to execute value-adding advancements and improvements in service delivery.
- This colleague will support the development and execution of the business and operational plan for MOPs, and manages and escalates risks where appropriate to deliver the set objectives/goals
- The MOP will collaborate with the Business Operations Partners (BOPs) to promote, efficiency and seamless compliant communications, operations and support for the BUs and Regions.
- The MOP will drive change initiatives/projects and culture change across Biopharma Ops to optimize support for Medical Affairs teams.
- A key responsibility of the MOPs will be to ensure all solutions and services meet the compliance and legal requirements to maintain the required independence of Medical and commercial activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA Required; graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 15+ years in the pharmaceutical industry . 5+ years in Emerging Markets or China Medical Affairs preferred
- Excellent understanding of Medical Affairs operations and business needs
- Experience collaborating with senior-level management
- Proven track record of delivering business performance

- Some travel will be required to NY HQ and within Emerging Markets and China
