Clinic Scheduling Rep – This is a 1.0 FTE/Full-time, typically 40 /hours per week, 8/hr day shifts, Monday – Friday. At Mason Health we offer an excellent benefit package, including a generous retirement contribution.
The Patient Scheduling Representative is responsible for scheduling all routine and non-routine medical services with various healthcare providers. This includes entering the appropriate diagnostic testing, demographics, and insurance information into the electronic medical record to facilitate patient care and billing integrity. Patient schedulers help to ensure that patients flow through the scheduling and registration systems as quickly and efficiently as possible while also ensuring that all fiscal and clinical procedures are followed in a constant manner. Provides a "Patients First" experience and supports a positive workplace by maintaining an upbeat and professional work environment while completing all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- 1. Maintains a welcoming, calm and professional environment at all times.
- 2. Schedules procedures utilizing the scheduling system following established protocols that promote physician satisfaction and scheduling efficiencies.
- 3. Answers incoming calls in a timely and professional manner; handles or reroutes calls as appropriate to ensure customer needs are met as efficiently as possible.
4. Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains necessary authorizations for services. Identifies and collects co-pay amounts.
- 5. Coordinates urgent scheduling directly with the appropriate triage team or assigned physician.
- 6. Answer and retrieves EMR data in an accurate and timely manner.
- 7. Works collaboratively with team members within the clinic and with co-workers within the hospital. Participates in organizational engagement/quality/process improvement activities. Assists in the training of new employees, following established standards.
8. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One (1) year of clerical/medical office experience preferred
