Job Title: Housekeeper
Evening Shift differential of $1.50 per hour, weekends add $2.00 per hour, and holidays are double pay!

POSITION SUMMARY:
In this position, you will work in a team environment with responsibilities that include daily housekeeping activities in accordance with current federal and state regulations, and Cedarcrest Center standards to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe, comfortable, and sanitary condition. May assist in other aspects of Environmental Services as requested by the supervisor.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Cleans assigned areas of the building on a daily basis.
- Cleans/polishes furnishings, fixtures, shelves and window sills in resident rooms, offices, classrooms, recreational areas and any other area assigned by supervisor
- Disposes of trash twice a day, or as assigned, while following established sanitation and safety procedures
- Dusts and detail cleans in assigned areas
- Washes windows and screens as assigned
- Cleans, washes and sanitizes bathroom fixtures daily
- Cleans tables, chairs, countertops and floor in dining room after meals
- Cleans staff break room and multipurpose room refrigerator weekly or as assigned
- Maintains adequate supplies for use in bathrooms and other designated areas
- Disinfects whirlpool tubs daily according to established cleaning protocols
2. Completes floor care responsibilities as assigned.
- Cleans floors, including dust mopping and wet mopping daily
- Completes floor stripping, waxing and/or buffing as assigned
- Cleans, vacuums, shampoos and deodorizes carpets as assigned
3. Assures safety of areas being cleaned.
- Assures that work assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous objects
- Assures that equipment and supplies are properly stored before leaving work area for breaks, meals, and at the end of the workday
- Uses established safety precautions when cleaning all floors. (i.e. use CAUTION wet floor signs to alert employees, residents, and any visitors.)
- Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of dining room and other areas as assigned
4. Complete special projects, as assigned.
- Prepares room for new residents in accordance to established protocol
- Thoroughly cleans room upon resident discharge, in accordance to established protocol
- Stores household supplies upon their arrival
- Cares for plants and animals maintained by Cedarcrest Center as assigned
- Cleans wheelchairs and rehab equipment as assigned and document upon completion of task
- Reports any noted maintenance problems to the supervisor and Facilities Manager or Maintenance Assistant
- Inventories supplies in closets and attic storage area and informs supervisor or Director of Nursing Services of needed supplies
- Touch up painting and patching required
5. Assists in completion of laundry as needed and as assigned.
- Washes and dries soiled linen according to established standards
- Distributes linens to its designated areas
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalency and three years experience in housekeeping, including an understanding of light maintenance duties and must know how to run equipment such as floor machine, buffer, etc. Painting experience preferred.
